NSF Certified Collision Parts
Who is NSF International?
NSF International is an accredited, third-party certification body that tests and certifies products to verify they meet public health and safety standards. Products that meet these standards bear the NSF Mark, which is respected by consumers, manufacturers, retailers and regulatory agencies at the local, state, federal and international level. The letters in NSF's name do not actually stand for any specific words today. They were derived from NSF's founding name in the 1940s, "National Sanitation Foundation".

NSF Automotive Collision Replacement Parts Certification Program
Over the past year, NSF International has been working closely with Collision Industry leaders to develop a certification program for collision parts. TYC/Genera, along with other industry leaders, has actively participated in the formulation of Standard P377, the new standard that governs NSF’s Lighting Certification Program. The NSF certification program for automotive lighting, bumpers, and other collision products creates immeasurable value for the consumer by ensuring high quality parts are validated, recognized and distributed. NSF International engineers independently evaluate and compare aftermarket parts to Original Equipment (OE) service parts to ensure the highest level of performance in terms of form, fit and function. - Program Details
Why NSF Certification?
NSF Certified products, bearing the “NSF” mark, provide program participants peace of mind by assuring the part’s quality and performance are comparable to their OE counterpart, as well as meeting additional criteria related to materials, traceability and protocols.
The NSF Certification program has proved to be popular, quickly gaining recognition as an industry standard. Farmers Insurance is already a participant in the program and is now requiring distributors to be qualified to carry NSF parts. As the NSF program grows and gains further recognition, collision customers will see great advantages selling to a growing market where more repairs specifiy NSF Certified parts.
NSF certification will also reduce certification costs by relying upon a more efficient certification process that also reduces lead time, allowing us to pass this savings to our valued collision customers.
All NSF parts feature distinct packaging along with marking on the lamp confirming its NSF status.
